Over 4 years ago I realized that my weakest area of life was my finances. I was in a dead end 9-5 job, living paycheque to paycheque… my savings were minimal and at times non-existent.
SO WHAT CHANGED?
Well firstly, I found a service that truly inspired me. A mission that made me want to wake up in the morning and get working!
It was through this that I learned, your service to the world is in direct proportion to your finances. No Service – No Money.
Secondly, I challenged myself to get educated! I grew up in a family where money was not talked about freely. Off-handed remarks like “rich people are stingy” or “you don’t talk about your wealth with others”, were commonly used.
Even my Dad who worked in a bank for over 30years rarely spoke to us about the importance of financial empowerment and how to manage money.
So I took it upon myself to skill up! I forced myself to read money and finance related books. Watch youtube videos, watch documentaries on how the financial industry works…. I even fell in love with a Foreign Exchange Trader… go figure. haha.
I listed 200 benefits of serving ever greater numbers of people with my business. Once I linked money and finance to my greater mission the fire was lit and I hope it never goes out!
Now not a day goes by that I do not read, watch or listen to some form of financial education.
Since moving finances higher on my values, educating myself and creating an inspiring mission, my personal and business finances have increased dramatically.
One of the major strategies that I put in place was my Savings Structure (Available to all Daily Life Planner Members). This simplified everything and striped the emotions out of saving!
If you have not implemented this structure into your own life yet I highly recommend you do!
